Captive of the Crimson Countess, Chapter 11: You Can’t Stop Me

Nadia felt her frustration rising. She understood the desire to escape. But she knew escape was impossible. Unfortunately, she couldn’t convince Blair of the futility of attempting escape.

Blair was still talking. And then Nadia heard Blair say, “Maybe the other hunter can help. I’m going to go talk to her.”

Nadia gasped. Blair couldn’t associate with the other hunter. The countess might decide that Blair wasn’t cooperating as well. Nadia needed to stop Blair.

“It’s too late in the day.” Nadia said. “The countess could wake at any time.”

“I’ll be quick.”

“You’ll get caught.” Nadia said.

“I’m going.” Blair said.

“You’re not!” Nadia stepped forward and pushed Blair against the stone of the castle.

Blair grunted and stared down at Nadia. They stood close, Nadia’s hands on Blair’s shoulders. Nadia could feel Blair’s breath against her face. She smelled lavender. Blair wore perfume. Again the hunter surprised Nadia. They stared at each other, and Nadia realized how close they stood.

The silence stretched between them.

“I’m not letting you get caught.” Nadia said.

Blair smirked, “You can’t stop me.”

Blair pushed forward and Nadia stumbled backward. The hunter outmatched her in strength by a great margin. Nadia felt her back hit the wall. She gasped from the impact and then gasped again when she realized she stood nose to nose with Blair.

They stared into each other’s eyes. Nadia wanted to look away and wanted to never stop looking at the same time. Blair’s strength intimidated Nadia. The other woman could manhandle Nadia with ease. If Blair wished to force Nadia in some physical manner, there would be little she could do to prevent it. A large part of her thrilled at the idea of Blair manhandling her. Delicious thoughts of exactly how the hunter could manhandle Nadia filled her brain. Her breathing came ragged and heavy. And Blair’s breath rolled hot and labored across Nadia’s face. And then Blair took a step forward, and they pressed together. And Nadia couldn’t think any longer.

The moment passed and Blair pulled back a step. And Nadia grabbed Blair to stop her.

“I’m trying to help you. You don’t understand how dangerous she is.”

"You like being her slave." Blair said.

"I'm trying to protect you!" Nadia blurted out.

Blair lurched back, and stared at Nadia.

“What?”

“I mean. I am.” Nadia stuttered. “Protect you. Trying that is.”

Blair leaned forward. Nadia’s eyes widened. Was Blair going to kiss her? Blair tipped her head forward and nuzzled her head against Nadia’s. Blair chuckled.

“I’m the monster hunter. I’ll protect you.”
